I'm going to have a VLT auto wagon, and my NA auto sedan side by side. Between me and a mechanic, how long should I allow for the two of us to swap engines, gearboxes, brakes, ECU and whatever else between the two cars?
And yes, I know the rear end can't be swapped between sedan and wagon.
I would allow two days, if you are compentant this is all it will take.
If you really move its possible to do it in 1 day, but whats the rush?
If you decide to change all the gaskets on the motor, give it a good service, clean engine bay etc, it may even take 3 days.
Depends on wether you are doing a straight swap or repairing/cleaning/modding stuff as you go, and also what tools you have access too...

I'd have to agree with Mick on this one Jordy, try and take a few days, change all the gaskets, give your engine bay in the sedan a nice coat of white, do the rocker cover, exhaust heat shield and whatever else, do it once and do it right.. Make it look nice from day one. Its alot easier to change gaskets and paint bits up whilst the engine is on a stand . Then again it can all be done at a later date, it all comes down to time and money.
Hope you didnt buy that bloody blue wagon

if u have the correct equipment and knowledge it should take u 2 days at a steady rate , bearing in mind u have no dramas with stuff.
also its a good idea to try and do it early in the working week as if u run into trouble on a sat or sun , sometimes shops arent open if u need to replace a part , therefore cars off road for a few more days.
i pulled my g/box and motor out of my old car, carried the motor 15 meters to the new car and into the new car in about 6 hrs with a few friends lending a hand.
