Hi guys, I have a dilemma eveytime I use my mode control seltor, and fan blower switch assembly Fuse number 5 keeps blowing :x which is the Air conditioner and heater blower fuse 25A I have cleaned the air con selector contacts inside the car, I have check the wiring under neath the fuse 5 in fuse box wires look ok no fraying or wear and tear ,When the selector is being used it clicks then I notice the battery voltage drops ,drawing current by me using the selector then fuse blows  Could it be a short cct somewhere??? I have follwed the wires for fuse 5 all the way from fuse box to other end as yet??? any suggestions ppl???

You may have a short in the winding of the fan blower and/or a short in the magnetic clutch for the air con, there should be recommended values for resistance for each of those, in the relevant service manual (I dont have mine to hand) but rotate the fan by hand slowly when you do the resistance measurement, or you can isolate the clutch circuit and see if the fuse blows from driving the fan - if it does then its a fair bet you have a bruned commutator in the fan motor or a shorted winding. If the fuse doesnt blow then its likely the clutch winding has a short - this is more likely since that part is partially exposed to road rubbish...

Well the first part is a bit easier, take the lead off the aircon magnetic clutch and if it still blows fuses then its not that. Then, yes, look under the glove box and find the wires going to the fan blower motor, and do the same thing, in fact take em both off and if oyu still blow a fuse then you have a short elsehwere - like switches for aircon sensors/relay or wiring behind climate controls... good luck, plus some help from a detailled wiring diagram, the G's one is a bit flacid Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
