Does any one know how to replace the radius rod bushes? I bought some nolethane replacements, but it appears i need a Ball joint removing tool to drop the lower control arm to get the radius rod out Is this the only solution? The bushes i need to replace go from the front chassis rail to the radius rod, if you look under your front bumper bar you can see a big bush on each side.. thats the sucker. Or should i just take it to a tyre joint and get them to fix it? cheers, hornet Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

put some weight on ball joint with a lever, and repeatedly hit strut ( in a spot you wont damage) might take a bit of persuasion, but will come. put some penetreine on it for a day before as well.... Watch fingers.........................................

yeah. they go back together easy, tightening the nut will lock the taper. dunno how to change them bushes though. prolly the easy part. just make sure all mating parts are clean..

Hornet, try loosening off the strut top nuts in the engine bay a bit, and then take off the inner control arm bolt. This should give you enough movement in the strut to push it back and get the radius rod out. (I havent tried it on a Commodore, but used to do it this way on my Subaru). Ta Damo.

Damo666 that way sounds a little less daunting, i'll give both methods an attempt when i've got some time off and motivation (which isn't often)
