Whats the best unit for this type of cash, from quality brands like Pioneer. to be hooked up with amps, two subs and front splits or 6x9s.
please no $159 Rockwood headunit with 4x60, because we all know it would kill your 4x45 Pioneer or 4x50 Alpine unit.

Try one of the alpines, The one I'm about to buy is $699. It is over your price, but it is a really good headunit.

03-04-03, 20:17 GMT+10#10 Yeh definately look at the JVC KD-SX985, great value for money with features to boot such as 3 pairs preouts. Also i dont see why every1 even bothers mentioning the H/U's power ratings, ie 4x50W etc cuz those figures mean *** all seeing as your speakers and subs are generally run off an amp.

07-04-03, 10:53 GMT+10#11 Precisely, it is just what sales people do to the un-learned, it sounds good in a sales pitch for them. Seriously, next time they try and tell you what power ratings the head units have, ask them the RMS output, it will always be about 20-25 RMS(if they even bloody know :P )

07-04-03, 13:33 GMT+10#13 and honestly i would neva bother with power ratings on a H/U RMS or Max. To me it is pointless anyway cuz i dont run any speakers off the H/U and even an amp with the same rms power output of a H/U should sound better.

name me another deck that you can upload/download jpg's to, has an insane eq on board, has over 45 different customizable backgrounds/movies... reads mp3s with a folder system that can collapse into 100+ folders, has an awesome blue lighting , looks insane.......
for under 1400 ?? it may not be the best, but it is definately up there....

09-04-03, 07:20 GMT+10#16 it all depends what you are basing your opinions on cheif, my deck is a much better deck, just doesn't look as fancy(which is why its hidden, and the Alpine LCD screen is displayed).
you originally said it is one of the best decks out the which is a big call, and is wrong. Denon would wipe the floor with it too start with.
But it is one of the best decks for under $1400 which is what you said in your 2nd post.
