8O I have recently found out that my vl turbo is running rich, the actuator is a to4 item and use to run 15psi on a good cold night but now when i take it out it runs no more than 10psi. When i give it a bootfull it blows black smoke, everything has been just rebuilt. i was told to replace the o2 sensor, which i did, but no improvement. could somebody please give me some information on what it could be or be not? and am i doing any damage to the motor? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Are you running an Air Flow meter on your setup? If so, your problem will ly somewhere there.... Mick

By the way whoever said your O2 sensor has got no ****ing idea  , the O2 sensor is only working when your car is in closed loop. Which if they listened to your symptoms would have known that when you put your boot into it, your ECU is in open loop(i.e. using factory preset maps) and only relying on CAS and the AFM to determine the correct Air Fuel ratio. Hence me suggesting you look at the Load Sensor input (Air Flow Meter in this case) first. Also on another note i suggest you do the engine diagnostics, it will throw up any intermitent faults with your cars sensors. Are you doing any damage with it running rich?, well in the long run if it is running excessively rich the fuel washes the oil off the bore and your motor wears alot quicker than usual. yes it is running a air/fuel ratio autometer gauge... could that be were the problem lies? the gauge will barely go past stoch on fuel boost and it used to go all the way to rich ? do you recommend i disconnect the gauge? will this solve my problem?

Now your confusing me, you changed your story, one minute its rich, the next minute your saying its lean????????????????? If the gauge is not going past the Stoich range(Orange LEDS's), it means your car is running lean, when you put load on the motor the gauge should go up to the Green LEDS's indicating a rich mixture, Then when your cruising it should crosscount back and forth from rich to lean as it tries to maintain an air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1. When your de-accelerating it should go red, indicating lean mixture. Is this the typical behaviour of your meter? or does it just stay orange constantly, if its orange all the time i would say the meter is wired incorrectly. If you can clarify what is actually happening in more detail it will help the vlforums users help diagnose your problem, at the moment you have conflicting information By the way, i was talking about checking your Air Flow Meter, the meter that is attached to your airbox, when did the Air/Fuel ratio gauge come into the story? hang on a minute....i thought stoich is what you want your car to be running at...i though that A/F guage went from lean to stoich to rich...i could be wrong though. just because your car is blowing smoke, doesn't mean it is running rich...the smoke could be cause by an oil leak in your turbo which is then burnt up and sent out the tail pipe!!! try using a catch can and see if this fixes your problem.
