Hi
I've done a search and i can't find what i'm looking for so maybe someone can help me. I own an auto VL N/A. Recently i had a 2.5inch exhaust put in and had the center muffler removed. Now my car idles at 1000rpm compared to when it used to idle at 850rpm. What is the easiest way to lower the idle?
Thanks
That adjusts the base idle, the actual physical characteristics that affect idle (air flow, in this case I believe) are adjusted by a screw on the back of the plennum. But I'm not sure which way adjusts this screw.
To adjust the idle you have to disconnect the Throttle Position Sensor and the AAC valve, then adjust the screw on the back of the plenum to achieve 650rpm, then plug all the sensors back on and all should be sweet at around 750rpm.
To answer your question though, clockwise will lower the idle, anti-clockwise will raise it.
If you think about it as you screw the screw in(clockwise) further it lets less air bypass therefore decreasing your idle speed.
