had a look at a mates s14 200sx tonight to help workout why it wasnt boosting past 6psi even with bleed valve fully unscrewed. this is what we saw looks to us like someone has welded the wastegate into a set position. correct? why the f** would anyone do this? what possible reason could anyone have for such a weld? the car used to run well past 6psi but bleed was removed and car returned to std when car was taken to a brisbane workshop for a gasket replacing. workshop responsible will be questioned tomorrow. hmmm................. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

mate took car in today to figure it out, wastegate flap can be turned manually with prybar. im guessing that the weld is only on an outer bit and the wastegate pivots on the inside of this tube. weird cos it looks dodgy. Still havent figured out why it is stuck on 4 psi now, maybe actuator is dodgy
