Finally got my backup engine on the chassis dyno today down at Rajab Racing Developments today and was quite pleased with the 3 pulls it done. By me saying backup engine this is not the best engine i have, im still awaiting on some Titanium rods from carillo to come in aswell as a billet and very expensive steel crank from another place stateside, once all the playing around with all the low/mid range settings on the M800 was done it was time to get down to some buisiness and see some of the quality parts in this engine shine and they did easily, it pissed in a 1st pull of 561.3rwkw and then followed soon after with 576.9rwkw then after a little more fiddling reeled off a still easy 590.7rwkw on 1.5bar boost@9000rpm(who said SOHC heads dont rev), it still has a fair way to go tuning and HP wise and i think 700RWKW are forseeable from this engine NO NOS(No NOS used at all). The reason i stopped it there is this engine has a custom aluminium rod and instead of trying to prove the full potential i will wait till its fitted into my tubbed VL and run it with the current power its got to sort chassis and stuff as it would useless to try racing it with a 7in rim and 10in slick like we have been doing for quite some time, once its in a proper car and sorted then we will finish tuning it to its full potential.. The engine was backed by a 2 speed glide for for the dyno runs but will be backed by a G-Force or Liberty air shifted manuel once and when the car is ready and sorted....JET BTW this engine is Twin Turbo.. That is a great result. well done. The results of your main engine should be something to watch out for if this is what your getting with your "backup" engine. I pose a littl question though. You said "who said SOHC heads don't rev", but don't you honestly feel that you would be able to get more power if you had a DOHC or maybe just even or more torque earlier in the revrange?? Has your SOHC head recieved any attention, ie porting, polishing, bigger cam, etc. Just curious as to what I could expect from my standard SOHC head thats all.

Yes it will be a dedicated Racecar this one, i mean why not everybody else has gone the tubbed route except us so now its our turn in my own separately funded car, so that means there WILL be 2 Racecars in future coming out of Rajab Racing Developments. My car(Racecar) is a fair while off as im taking my time to get everything organised, i want it perfect, i already have the driveline(Actually nearly 2)and have been gathering parts for some time. This engine in its current state of tune should be pretty fast,Here,s a link to a 1/4mile calculater take a look what it would be capable of in a 3000lb standard VL Commodore with the current RWKW it has. www.westnet.com.au/urks/perfcalc.zip (http://www.westnet.com.au/urks/perfcalc.zip) This is a neat calculater as you can measure rear wheel to flywheel and many other things aswell........JET

Quote: probably cause more PSI = more horsepower Incorrect- More flow equals more power Why does a stock T3 on 10psi make less power then a gtbb30 on 10 psi?

Well done to JETVL on that effort, we shall see a quick car when it makes an appearance. By the way, JETVL posted the same topic on www.melbccr.com and I posted there as well, and let's just say I created havoc and stirred some of the import ricer boy's up a bit, all they do on there is bag us VLT owners and drivers out which I don't like, the fact is we VLT enthusiast's have some of the quickest cars out there, something the import boys don't like even though we use a Nissan engine. If you want to have a laugh check what crap these guy's reply back with. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Firstly thanks for all the comments. I dont wish to give out the specs of the engine at this point in time, Alls ill say is it consists of custom stuff we,ve made ourselves and we dont want it copied. Its our R&D that we put alot of time and effort into and the dyno really helps(Lucky he got the 900rwkw dyno though) Alan show his talents as not only a top notch mechanic but also with great tuning skills. let me say this though expect more to come when my Racecar is complete from not only this engine but more-so my other engine, we still have alot of tricks up our sleeve to pump out a a heap more KW trust me and next time when we go higher ill get it on video coz i dont think you,s will beleive me otherwise. These runs were made on C16 alone NO NOS NO Alternate fuels, but we will be experimenting with other types of fuels with the next engine to see just how far we can go without NOS before we will even consider switching to it. Also i dont have any pics of it as it only looks like a SOHC VL engine and im sure you all know what they look like, im sure you,ll be seeing it in lots of pics in the future, thats all ill be posting for now, i have other things to concentrate on ATM and dont get alot of time to do this **** nowadays.....JET

Privacy reasons GMH-GEM, look i know your guna say well you,s are a buisiness arent you and yes it is, but that doesnt mean we have time to sit around and talk **** all day to alot of 18year olds saying they wana run 9s and this and that only to ring up the next day saying nah they want 10s now, then the next day again its 11s but i have to ask my mum or dad 1st, if people are serious,REALLY serious they know how to find us or contact us.....JET

Shootout mode is a basic mode, setup for a run, no special settings, no real calibration of the dyno. It reports a higher figure than a correctly setup dyno. In this case who gives a rats arse what it pulled, its ****en huge regardless   and the real engine is going to blow away a lot of cob webs. As for the we dont want little 18yr olds ringing up business. Unless you havent been outside for a while, you'll notice that most of the hardcore VLt owners with the expensive gear are of teenage years. They are the ones that come up with the cash, it may no be legit sometimes, but in most cases i think it would be due to them having a good solid income! If its not legit, why should it affect you? you get paid, they get what they want, end of story. End of the day your making a living by selling goods to the public, dont question how they get it, just take it. I agree if they want to contact you they should look you up, but adopting the attitude that all 18yr olds are stupid and dont have any money is pathetic!
