Wow... I think this year is goin' to be one of the biggest ever V8 Supercars championship. Lots of drivers have changed teams, and even some changed cars. I reckon HRT will continue to dominate for another season, but the drivers behind 'em will be closer then ever. Since Ford now have DOHC V8's in the new BA, does this mean they can use this technology in the V8 Supercars? If they did - what would Holden do to try and keep up? i've got a pic of the new HRT team as well - not as impressive as ****ies but Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

No, all v8 supercars are regulated on a pushrod 5.0L. even the vx's are running a 5.0L V8.

SuperCheaps new BA Falcon - quite impressive. HRT's new VY animal - bit disapointing V8 Supercar's newest team, Team Dynamik - looks like the old mobile car Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Go check out the site for the Holden Racing Team, the rear of the VY looks totally ****ed. The rear wing looks just hidiously ugly and looks like the kind of thing we all pick on ricers for having on their doorifto Skylines.

VY = Homo, love the dooorifto wing  Falcon = hot Who gives a rat's ring anyway, it's all just an advertising exercise anyway. Ford were getting whipped and more teams were using the Holden because they know they can't win with the Falcon. So it was becoming a race of one horse, which really there should be no problem with logically. That's Fords' fault for ignoring it and not having a Works car since 1973. But no, AVESCO have to change the rules, just so Ford have a chance. Blueprint is gay. They should bring back homolagtion racing. The original Armstrong 500 Bathurst idea was the best, but then again that wasn't part of the ATCC I don't think.

Change the rules so that ford have a chance? What the? Have you not read or heard about the new rules? Holden use the front and rear suspension setup that the Ford has always had, so the holden has better steering, the ford rear has changed ever so slightly to make it more fair on the holden also. Reason being that the ford handled crap in the cornering last year was due to the poorly designed front lip that had **** all down force, yet is was designed to allow for a better parity system, Go figure? The new engines are all identical, the teams are allowed to tickle the heads, and change the cam, other than that its pretty much same ford and holden. Only difference now is one has a ford shell, the other has a holden shell. Engine is chev, rest is ford design. This year i think everyone is ****ed, no one knows the new cars or engines, its all a practice season. Its no longer who has the biggest wallet either. Should be a lot more fun now.

Think about it. You think they would have introduced parity rules if it was already competitive? Ford haven't been competetive since 1997-98. True, V8 Supercar racing rules have always been centered around keeping Ford and Holden as close as possible but I find the introduction of these rules at this particular time a bit too conveniently timely. Just in time, say, to end Ford's horror run with the AU? Engines aren't *completey* identical either. The Chev motor has been modified to be as similar to the Ford SVO motor as possible. Holden ports aren't siamesed like they were before and rod lengths are down to Ford size. Competitors can still use the 18 degree VX engine this year I think. ATCC in Australia gets crapper and crapper every year. If AVESCO could have their way, every car would be Identical down to the body for perfect parity I bet Good for drivers I guess, bad for fans perhaps. Good for Ford because now maybe they won't be as crap now that AVESCO has brought Holdenn down to their level. Which will help them sell a few cars at least... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Holden can and will be using the old chev engines this year due to supply difficulties. Only one GRM entry and maybe the Team Dynamic cars will be running the new "Auora" engines. Also most of the Holden teams will be running converted VX's, rather than try VY's at the beginning of the season.

Ingall has moved to Stone Brothers racing. Dumbrell has replaced Ingall at Castrol Perkins, and Larry has retired. Besnard, Lowndes and Seton have moved to the newly formed FPR, previously known as GSR but with prodrives backing now. Todd Kelly has moved from the Young Lions to HRT, and Bright has moved to Team Brock, with Paul Weel, which will be using Weel's franchise this year. Rick Kelly has moved to K-mart, and the Young Lions operation has moved north with John Faulkner, who will be running it for Dale Brede in the Konica Series. Jason Richards leaves team Kiwi to join the new Team Dynamic with Simon Wills. Paul Radisich and Max Wilson have swapped seats at Briggs and DJR, while Canto has picked up the second seat at Briggs, and Longhust looks like sitting out the season. Bargwanna has left GRM to go to Larkham Motorsport, while Jamie Wincup takes his seat at GRM. Team Kiwi will now have Craig Baird driving. 00 motorsport will have Greg Ritter and the ever famous Rodney Forbes at the wheel. Also joining the Ford ranks will be Mark Noske's new team and David Thexton's new team. I think that is all the changes Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
