Gents,
My mate has owns a VS series 2 Ute (auto) and its currently stalling intermittently when either idling (in park or drive) or driving at any speeds.
He has just replaced the fuel filter, battery and auto box.
Does anyone know what this could mean?
Thanks,
Joel.

its actually stalling whilst driving???
like when hes doing 50km/h, the engine dies?
this could be a stab in the dark but did he replace the fuel filter properly? it could be a different type or something and blocking the fuel causing it to run out of fuel.
umm, i dont think the battery or auto box would cause it to stall but make sure he gives it a good service, including timing, idle speed and fitlers.....

Sure its getting enough spark from the ignition? I had a similar problem with my VK Calais and it wasnt getting enough power apparantly.
Just a thought.

it sounds like the DFI module, it's the thing the coil packs sit on if it's a v6. test it with a multi meter & do the same with the coil packs

any money its the fuel pump
i had a sad day with my VP today
just recently, she stalled on startup in the morning. i didnt think anything of it until it was sitting at idle the next day and the revs were surging up and down.
anyway, i was at uni today and it took 5 times to start but once it started, it was fine. then on the way home, i had to stop for some fuel, put $15 in and tried to start it and it was coughing and splattering and made it 10 metres and died. RAC guy came and told me to start it while he was kicking the **** out of the fuel tank... hence, fuel pump has died. got me home fine but that will be abit it. anyway, the VS is stalling because of a faulting fuel pump or blocked fuel filters. good luck :?

scary: an RAC guy did that to my car once. im like wtf stop hitting my car with that pole. he reckoned sometimes the in tank fuel pump needed a bit of a wack to get going. turned out to be something completely different...
