Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix a faulty remote boot release because mine doesnt work and i wouldn't have the foggiest where to start looking for possible problems, i've tried switching the plugs around on the button terminals and that's the only thing i can think of that could be wrong unless theres a fuse for it, is there a fuse for it?

Try looking in your boot at the cable which pulls the lock mechanism. If u can hear a clicking noise while pressing the button in the boot area it means that it is working but just disconnected or not pulled tight enough. Hope that helps coz this was the problem with mine but i havent gotten around to fixing it yet.

I needed to attack my release mechanism in the boot with a can of WD40, it got a bit tight. this fixed it Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

we checked to see if it was making the noise, and it wasnt, that was the first thing we checked, then we checked the fuse, but that was fine, so we cant figure it out, hey badger, there was another topic on this, it was a while ago tho, i couldnt be stuffed finding it for u now, lol, but see if u can find it, ill have a look when ive got some time, anyways, ill catch ya later, P.S. i put those speakers in the door, i put the new spacers and the old spacers there, but im gunna buy some new pioneer 2 ways on saturday, im not puting up with a speaker poking 3 inches out of the door. p.p.s. u owe me for helping u yesterday, i got the **** burnt out of me

have u made sure that the single black wire that runs up into the boot lid is actually connected to the motor. It could also be a faulty switch.

could you not just pull the wires off the back of the switch and put them together to see if anything happens?

you could do that Dr00... that would be the best way to test weather it is a faulty switch or not before buying a new one. If it still doesn't work after touching the wires together, it must be more than just a faulty switch.

Have you tried running straight 12V to the Solenoid to see if it is faulty? Or testing if you have power at various points in the circut such as at the Switch and at the Solenoid? Also make sure that the Plug in the Boot that connects to the Rear Wiring Loom is plugged in... Mine was unplugged and had me buggered for weeks... :?

na i rekon its the rod coming out of the actual motor thing in the boot lid.. it has to be perfectly straigt other wise it gets caught on itself just where the rod comes out of the motor, it gets stuck on the side.. make sure the the rod can move in and out inside of the motor perfecrlty without any assistance, then it should be sick as aaiiight ! Ollie
