I've got a set of front and back Koni Sport Adjustable (yellow) shockies and I want to get the front shockies out of the strut body. I never put them in and I have never had them out. I was just wondering how to do it. I've tryed using a spring compressor and undoing the 22mm nut on top, but the shaft just turns. I really want to get them out. It's been lowered and I'm just wondering what the deal with the front shockies are. I've read in the Gregories manual that it's a chrome plated piston that goes into the strut body. Is this right or can someone explain to me how I can pull the shockies out and put them into my new car. I can't use the old strut body that the steering arm and front discs slid onto as it's got a fair sized dent in both. All help much appreciated. Cheers, Nick

Ah - the old "front struts siezed" problem. I feel for you mate, because I remember working all night before a drag meet to change front shocks. Eventually I got it done, but what a pain in the butt! I don't have any tricks for you. But I know that next time I'll be getting a suspension shop to quote me up-front, then get them to do it & hold them to their quote. Good luck!

u need special tools to get the shock out of the top of the bearing plate i think. You also need a special tool to get the cartridge out of the strut. Ollie

thanks 700HP and Ollie, I've got the gregories manual, so I already read the images above and I just couldn't get the shockie out. Thanks for the advise Ollie, I might just take the units into a suspension place. Nick

Get a rattle gun onto the nut at the top of the strut. A big pair of poly-grips (or multi-grips) will remove the nut that holds the 'Koni insert' into the strut body, easy, just use your jack to hold wieght on the strut so spring doesnt fly out when undoing top nut, ease jack down slowly.
