Allo guys got a small prob i think and im not sure if its the car or headunit, prob is when u crank up the volume on the headunit , the display dims with each beat of the bass, so i would assume its runnin out of power and thats at only like volume 20-21, it goes upto 30 btw,, any suggestions? Ta

um maybe try running a new, thicker wire direct from the battery for the power wire (fused of course) and thicker wire to a better grounding point.

if your running amps that are drawing lots of current (such as when you get a heavy bass beat) it may cause this dimming..you'll prob also notice your car idles a bit higher when it happens... if some extreme cases, like my mates car, the car will stall... this is pulling 150db tho, and he only pushes it this hard at spl comps... a bigger battery/ upgraded alternator may help, but i wouldnt worry about it if its only slight dimming... if your only running the stocko HU and no subs/amps, this isnt really relevant and could be more of a problem... so let us know if you arent!

yeh i was just playing with my spare crap system of poineer headunit 6x9's 4' jbls front, had a jl sub and amp in boot trying it out with a lil 150rms poineer amp, if i rememeber correctly even with the amp not hooked up and just runnin the headunit at high volume with the deeper bass notes on say like M&M cd it dims, but as far as i can tell it doesnt affect the sound or anything that i can tell, had the headunit for bout 4yrs and did the same in my last car, so im thinkin it just maybe the headunit.
