Hey Guys, I got bored on the weekend so i thought about how i could do cold air without spending much money at all. I set myself a mission of trying to do cold air on a very tight budget of $15. Heres the steps. 1- Take out the existing air snorkel 2- get yourself 60cm of 40mm plastic flexible tubing like used for pool plumbing 3- down beside the air con line, you will notice a big gap, stuff the tube down that gap and drag most of it through till you can stick one end through the bumper hole (brake cooling duct i think it is) push it through there about 10mm or enough for it to not bounce out. 4 - zip tie it to wherever you can in a few locations, i used the bumper reinforcing beam 5- trial fit the snorkel and work out roughly how much will need to be cut off. 6- cut the desired amount off and feed into the end of the snorkel DONE All up, pipe, and zip ties was like $6.00 And as far as i can tell, works like a treat.

haha... sounds like something u would see/ hear on "backyard blitz" or "better homes and gardens" or something  "robs budget car mods" i can see it now.. hahaha. just playing robbo. is the 40mm big enough? wouldnt some 100mm aggy line be more suited to the job? thats cheap as chips...

Yeah you're right Jeffo but without cutting anything, 100mm ag pipe won't fit anywhere under the bonnet. The way i see it, you're forcing SOME cold air into the normal snorkel, and the rest is underbonnet. You're in no way decreasing the amount of space for intake, you're just running taking some of it from a different location. This method isn't about some massive amount of cooling power for it, its for people who want a little bit of cold air, and are on a tight ass budget.

i did a similar cold air job on a VL i used to have, 100mm hole saw through the bottom of the airbox, sealed some 100mm ag pipe into the airbox and secured the other end behind the vents in the front bar. made a mess of air filters when it rained though
