just checked spark plugs and the ends are a white bone colour they look in quite good nick but ive heard that white means it's running lean, and in the morning when i first start the car it fires then dies like theres no fuel pressure, then it starts perfect.
yes, fuel pump is noisy when i first start it in the morning i leave the ignition on until i hear that the pump has fully primed, how noisy should they be? i can defenitly hear mine but i figured it was normal.
Just looked it up in the tech manual for ya Seal.
It also says that if ur engine starts then stalls it could be:
1. Faulty engine management component (loose wiring connections)
2. Faulty air regulator
3. faulty fuel pump or connections
Also, check the ducts between ur airflow meter and engine for airleaks.
Are ur injectors ok? Check for fuel on the injectors and the manifold just beneath the injectors as this will indicate a leak and can result in the engine stalling.
Probably best to take it to a mechanic tho
Hope its of some help.

thanks heaps jst sus, thats giving me a few more things to have a look at, but which one could it be, ive just purchased a vlt ecu of the forums, ive also just dropped vlt moter in as well but have'nt altered fuel system because i was led to beleive they are the same. it never used to be lacking fuel pressure or hard to start with the N/A in there, as for the injectors there is no fuel leaking at all. im going to have to look at the fuel system more closley because it's also spluttering and heaps of lag under load. thanks for everyones help, seal.
told you to check the fuel system. The in tank pump normal causes the external pump to starve. If the in tank pump is replaced first it will save you alot of money having to replace the outside one. make sure you buy new bolts and gasket for the fuel tank to stop it leaking. most holden dealers will have these in stock, beause they are the same from VL to VS. If you have a N/a external pump dont put a turbo pump on it spend a little more and buy a bosch motorsport pump. it also might pay to check you fuel presure reg. in the early days of VL turbo's some cars had to have them replaced because they were sticking.
all the best.
remember to ALWAYS start with the basics.

It's not normal for the fuel pumps to be noisey. IT'S NORMAL FOR A CAR BIULT AROUND 1987 TO HAVE NOISEY WORN FUEL PUMPS BY 2003.
THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT THEY ARE MENT TO BE NOISEY.
if you have a noisey fuel pump replace it (make sure you replace the correct one, the in tank is whats causes most of the dramas) and then I bet you will notice the difference.
THATS LIKE SAYING THAT ITS NORMAL FOR YOUR FRONT DISC ROTORS TO HAVE A GROOVE IN THEM OR A LIP ON THE EDGE BECAUSE ALL YOUR CARS HAVE HAD THEM.
NO VL HAD A NOISEY FUEL PUMP FROM THE FACTORY.
