hey, I went to my local exhaust place today for a 2.5 inch cat back exhaust. I don't want a drone at all so the guy reconmended that i go 2.5ich since i have 2.5inch extractors and to remove the center muffler and replace the rear resonator with a high flowing mercury one. He reckons this sounds really deep and good. Is this true? Also he wants $230 is this price to0 high? Thanks

I used to own an XF Falcon... i put 2.5 inch all the way through new mufflers etc.. for 160. What you were quoted sounds iffy to me.. does that incluse the cat converter or is it from the cat to the end... if thats the case.. then it sounds way too over priced. Yeh i know.. XF Falcon.. was a good car till a hail storm wrecked it. Kicked butt too,..

Got the exhaust on today. Sounds awsome. I ended up paying $220. The car has a very deep note and is very burblery when iddling.

shouldnt people remove only the rear muffler like for example, from the cat back you'd have a middle muffler followed by 2.5 inch piping to end of the tail pipe... or both methods bring out the same effect in performance and sound?

I got a 2.5" exhaust put on my 5 speed VL on friday at Midas Fairfield. Cost me $320. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I got quotes from heaps of exhaust joints but i ended up paing $340 for cat back with only 1 centre muffler and straight piping to the end, i had to pay a little extra so they could mould the tip to my Aero bar, all mandrel bent (most places only do mandrel bending as it's become standard). So $300 is what you should pay i guess...
