Frankly I don't have a clue how to do this... I'm wondering if anyone can help me? This is going to sound dumbass, but thats coz I am I purchased the rest of the system when I had money... the shop-installed Clarion 4 channel CD player hooked up to the original rear speakers on two channels, and through a Kenwood KAC846 amp, to subs and splits on the other two channels. Now the CD player has been stolen, and I'm unable to afford replacing it following an operation, but would like some music if possible using the original deck. But I don't have a clue how to hook it up. The wires I have: From the radio: -A large black plug thing -A black ground wire? -Orange: This is the power wire, it leads to Fuse Number 8.. -Pink: For the Power antenna, not on all models, goes to Power Antenna Module -Black/White Tracer: Earth, leads to an earth point -Yellow: Accessories, so the radio turns on when the car duz. -Tan: L H F Positive -Light Green: R H F Positive -Brown: L H R Positive -Dark Blue: R H R Positive -Light Blue: all speaker Negative -Grey: Leads to Cigarette Lighter and Climate Control Switch From the car: -A large black plug thing that connects to the original deck -A black wire and red wire - power? -1 x blue/white (male) -2 x green (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) -2 x purple (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) -2 x RCAs that go into a box and come out as *****-1 x black (male) -2 x brown (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) -2 x grey (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) Sorry for the stupid question, but I'd really like something to listen to... any help would be greatly appreciated. black is your ground wire, red is power. Join the two blacks, red to orange (when i connected mine i didnt think orange was a power wire, double check) and the rest are just ur speaker wires. U dont need the rcas unless ur speakers are running off an amp which i doubt they are. Connect the yellow to a wire that is connected to the ignition (u need to test the wire to see if it has power only when the car accessories are turned on) Not sure about the blue and white (test it to see if there is power when u turn the accessories on) As for these: -2 x green (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) -2 x purple (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) -2 x brown (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) -2 x grey (1 male, 1 female w/black stripe) These are speaker wires. all u gotta do is go to JB and buy some oxygen free speaker wire and run it from your rear speakers directly to the back of the head unit. Join the wires above that have the stripes to your positives (the +ves on the rear speakers) and the others to the negatives. Starting with new wires will make it so much easier, unless u have a vl manual, it will take u forever to figure out which wire goes to where. Someone please correct me if im wrong, i dont want him to damage anything After that u should be sweet. Hope i was of some assistance AGE

Sorry just went and sussed mine out. The memory wire on the deck (yellow) goes to the red wire coming from the car. The red wire on the deck goes to a yellow wire coming from the car (please test first coz it could be different), which i just discovered is ur accessories. best of luck AGE

Thanks JST_SUS! Huge help! Just one thing... Quote: Originally Posted by JST_SUS U dont need the rcas unless ur speakers are running off an amp which i doubt they are. Yep... there is an amp, which is where the RCAs (and I don't know what else) come from. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

In that case if u want to use the amp u need a whole new setup. All u need is some thick wire (ask at shop) to run from the battery to the power terminal of the amp. Then u get some thinner wire (again, ask to use as ur remote wire. This will go from that accessories wire (that yellow one) to the remote terminal on the amp. The other terminal on the amp is ur ground. Just wire that to a screw or something else thats metal and connected to the car (not painted metal tho). Instead of running those speaker wires to the back of ur head unit, u just screw them into their appropriate spots on the amp, positive on speaker-to-positive on amp etc etc. Then u need some RCAS 2 male-to-2 female (ask). The two male ends will plug into ur head unit and the female end to ur amp. U'll figure it out once u get going Good luck John AGE Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
