sorry if this is a simple question but just wondering if some one could tell me what extra wiring will i need to run a second amp. currently i've got a four channel amp which i'm planning to bridge to run 2 subs and i'm getting a 2 channel amp to run a set of splits. just wondering do i need to run a second power and ground cable for the new amp or can i connect the 2 amps together, if so do i need a bigger power and ground cable (i've got 8 gauge power cable for the 4 channel amp) and how od i connect the 2 amps?. what else will i need to run the 2nd amp(another remote wire, etc? )
ye could jump the power and remote over to the second amp but just use a seperate earth strap for it and use piggy back rcas to connect em or u can go the hard way and runna new power cable to a distribution block the jump from that to each amp

I setup twin amps about 2 months ago and I asked the installer @ strathfield the best way to do it and he said using the same power chord is fine. What you do is run a single power chord from your battery to a Gold plated insulated connector with one input and dual outputs. From there, run 2 power lines of the same density out to either amp and Earth each amp separately to a point on the chassis. Or you could do the same setup for your Earth but bear in mind those connectors are like $15. Make sure your power chord is fused under the bonnet of the car with a fuse the same amps as the highest amperage of the fuse of 1 of your amps. So if you have one amp running a 35 amp fuse and 1 running a 25 amp fuse use a 35 amp fuse at the battery. Then for the amp with the 25 amp fuse use a separate fuse between the amp and the Gold plated insulated connector @ 25amps.
The other amp you can fuse too but it's not neccessary as technically the fuse @ the battery should go if either amp fuse blows.
Then it's just a matter of picking up your RCAs from the LINE OUT of 1 amp into the LINE IN of the other amp.
So basically if you already have one amp setup
Purchase the following (assuming it's running only dual (stereo) RCAs):
1. Gold Plated insulated Connector with one input and Two Outputs.
2. Extra RCA Leads.
3. Sufficient Power chord of the same density as your original power chord.
4. Earth chord of the same density.
5. Speaker wire
