I'm thinking of taking my plenum chamber off and making it all nice and shiny, as well as putting on a shiny Nissan rocker cover, because I'm quite bored, but looking at the plenum closely you can see the casting marks (sort of small dots) in the metal, and AutoSol won't be able to get rid of these. What do I need to do to get rid of these and start with the AutoSol?

best way to smooth that out is to give it to a professional polisher who would have the tools to smooth it over. that is how mine was done Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah, but how much do proffessional polishers cost?? Ive seen engine covers aluminium done with CRC Mag wheel cleaner, by following the directions on the bottle (spray, scrub, leave, hose off) and that gets lots of **** off, and then u use autosol to really make it shine.

i was quoted about $40 to polish 1 15" rim to mirror polish, i cant see the plenum being very much harder or more work (but im not a polisher). Best to take it round, and ask them what they can do. They wont be able to get the whole lot smooth, theres just some parts they cant reach - mine above has most of the surface there polished, everywhere they could reach... the rocker cover is dead easy - its already smooth. strip the paint, and autosol it - this took me 5hrs of hand polishing to go from the boring dull silver (n/a) to what you see Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

u'd be suprised what a drill with a wire brush end can do fellas, good for getting into that burred metal ****. then hit it up with some fine sand paper and then the polish might take a while, satisfaction at the end is the reward. later Ollie
