Well I'd say if you can't find some sort of Aftermarket Chrome Strips the only other place to try would be Holden... :?

I got some after market chrome strips from supercheap auto. $14.50 for 10 meters. They look exactly like the genuine ones.

to do the whole car in genuine strips is something crazy like $380. Go aftermarket.

Were the ones that you brought from supercheap cut to size and fit straight on or did you just get a 10m strip of chrome strip and cut it up yourself? Cheers

I thought it would cost alot more for a complete set of stainless steel calais moulding strips. I believe that Holden still sell the individual stainless strips and I have yet to enquire about them. I'm going to try and buy a complete brand new set of genuine calais mouldings for my car as I have bought just about everything else brand new genuine for it. I have seen the aftermarket "Sticky" plastic chrome strip moulding stuff on a couple of VL's it does work but looks far from the original article, personally I would'nt use it I prefer everything factory looking but in immaculate condition, but the aftermarket stuff is easy to get and cheap and you can easily apply it in a short time you basically peel back the adhesive tape and stick it where you want it and trim it with a razor blade.

I got myself some 8mm crome strips from a place in geelong, all I had to do was peel of the paper off the back and stick it on. I had to cut it but that was no dramaz. Something like $3.90 per meter. 10min to put on and ur laughin. Kingy

The plastic chromy strips might be a better alternative to the standard ones, if they a have a few door openings on them. Also i think the Rajab's famous harlequin VL did have the stick on chrome strip type. One thing you have to be careful about is you dont damage your paint when you take off your metal clips. Also bare in mind that no one can steal your chrome strips and if they do, stick another set on Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Try asking a few used car lots, they generally have a "Pinstripe Guy" that does all that aftermarket stuff, and it's not to expensive too. Allso try a few Panel shops as they generally keep it or can put you on to someone who can get it for you. Autopro - Barn, Marlows, Supercheap are rip off's don't buy it from them buy it from a supplyer it work's out cheaper. I think the stuff is made by a company called Bodyline located in Tullamarine Victoria, they have a site too www.bodyline.com.au I think. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
