Hi Guys, I saw a mates VL Calais, when he reversed the reverse light lights up on the Dash. I have the exact same Dash on my Berlina, but mine doesnt light up reverse when I put her in reverse ? Any reasons why ? Could it be the loom ? I thought Berlinas had Calais looms just without the fancy features plugged in ! Calais Dash = Grey clour like the V8s as well Berlina Dash = is the same as the Calais except for the Empty Fuel and Coolant sensors stuff. Would be nice to have it working :mrgreen:

The dashes have the same lenses for the lights but not necessarily the wiring or switches to go along with them. Get a torch shine it onto the dash and you'll see all the lenses for things: low coolant etc Otherwise they'd all have the same features. I believe it's a Calais auto feature only

Change the UPPER harness to a calais one (ie, the one behind the cluster) .. this will enable calais lights to work ..

Exactomodo, i have a calais dash in an SL and of course the whole calais wiring harness, berlina upper harness wont work.

I beleive from reading my Calais Factory users guide it states only Calais came with Reverse Illuminated on Dash when Transmission gear selector is in reverse but do not quote me on that and take as Gospel dude Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You can wire it up it is easy. You just have to find the cable that turns on your reverse lights. I can't remeber which one this is look up a elec diagram it a 12+ one that goes to you reverse lights. I did this for a man. vl which is easy to find and the switch is on the gear box. Add a wire to it and put that wire through to your dash. You will see on the top of your dash that one side of the light is grounded and another is power. You can tell this as the groud one joins a couple of other lights. Put the wire the power side make sure you test it first with just a 12+. I just put the wire under the light on the power side and as you turn it to hold the light in it holds the wire in. Hope this helps CMEFLY

Yep mine too "REVERSE" when shifter is pulled right and down! There's no reasons why a manual wouldn't have it, it still has reverse tail lights so still needs a switch on the g/b.

Was yours a manual VLT from the factory, or is it a conversion...?
