hey guys, connected a disc stacker to my head unit the other day and when i went to put it back in it wouldn't go all the way because of the chord from the stacker. I think its hitting up against the heater box or something....not sure what its called. Just wondering if you guys have had this problem in your VL and what you did to get around it. It used to fit in nice until i hooked up the stacker.
Cheers

yep we all get that problem, just try getting a couple Right Angle RCA adaptors to put on the back of the headunit, this should fix ya prob
Jaycar Electronics have these here (http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=PA3566&CATID=35&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=xxxxxxxxxx&Keyword2=xxxxxxxxxx&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=597)

its not the RCA cables that are the problem, its the chord that hooks the stacker up to the HU (not the RCA cables)

doesnt the stacker use rca cables into the headunit??

yeh it does have RCA cables hooked up but I've got the right angled ones and they don't hit that back wall bit. But the actual power chord that runs from the stacker to the head unit is whats stopping it from going all the way in. Is there a different chord I can buy from somewhere?

i think he means the wires that the headunit uses to control the stacker, of course i could be totally wrong ops:

Weird that thats not angled .. i had an ancient sony 10 stacker for a while and even that had an angled stacker cable .. What actually is behind the stereo, is it airflow ducting? or the firewall? I woudlnt have thought itd be far enough back to be the firewall? I guess if it was you could measure it up and drill thru a bit .. maybe goop seal it up a bit to stop chaffing on the cable .. how far out does the stereo sit with the cable attached? Any chance making some kind of forward sitting mounting for it?

what is the model anyway?

i have herd oof 2 ways of fitting the head unit in 1 was using the heat gun as stated the other was to make a bracket that makes the head unit stick out a bit if you look in most commo mags theres usualy one vl that has done this he walky in street commodores june 2003 is an example
