im am just about finished my custom plenum for my vlt. can people tell me the power gains they have had from their own plenums, custom or purchased. post some pictures if you dont mind, as long as its not nizpro, i seen plenty of them.

If you engine isn't really a high horsepower engine it really wouldn't give you much power gain. It would just reduce lag because the I/C pipe is shorter. My mates car has made 400Hp at the rear wheels with a standard plenum and that was on 18 PSI(low boost setting). Although he has spent over $15000 on the engine alone. I'm also interested if many people have done a before and after dynotune and if there has been any gains

my car is currently making 350hp at 16psi on optimax. im hoping on for 400 at 16 psi with the plenum. when you purchase a properly designed plenum the benefits should be substantial, no matter what mods you have.

ive read a few articles on custom plenums for vls, and on average of 15 kw is made if it holds high volume of air and tuned runners etc etc Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

oh i forgot too, power of 15kw is from 2000rpm onwards and improves the top end.....and much sharper throttle responce down low

see, that's what i don't understand about custom plenums. surely on a turbo engine, the plenum chamber would be pressurised equally under boost, and as such the runners would also recieve equal pressure. positive pressure in the plenum should be equal all throughout the area, or is there something i'm missing? (note that i realise some people have had problems with the rear cylinders leaning out, just trying to provoke some constructive argument here.)

plenum results for the long runner can be seen on the website below, along with prices for both. results for the short runner plenum will not be available for a month or so, as the car is at the panel beaters getting hail damage fixed. will keep everyone updated.
