I know the series 2 had the ecotec engine, and they got the clear indicators on the side of the car.
Also the HSV's got extra security devicies, calais etc may have received these too?

Not much change with VS Series II, except that Calais now gets 16 inch wheels and foglights, with its two-tone paint job slightly different. Manual gearbox on ECOTECs is now Getrag. Funny you should mention the Ecotec engine Mobil... my car i'm sure you all know is a Lexcen and its a March 1996 Lexcen making it a T4 model... which i beleive is equivilant to the VR however its got the ECOTEC engine in there with an original build plate.
It just seems funny that Toyota had holdens engines in toyotas cars before holden could release them in their own cars.

??????????????????
About your car: It's really a VS series 1 with Toyota badges and minor trim differences.
FYI: VRs finished in late 1995 and all cars after that had the ecotec V6 as standard.
Your car would have probably been made by Holden on their production line at the same time (March 1996) as all V6 Commodores were being fitted with ecotec engines.
Sorry but I have no idea how you came to your conclusion.

31-01-03, 00:38 GMT+10#10 Ok well in that case you're right... its a Series 1 VS with no trim differences, its identical to a Commodore.
The differences between the Lexcen & Commodore are :-
- Front quarter panels curve in deeper around the indicators
- Indicator lenses mounted in the bumper
- Different bumper
- Toyota centre pad on the steering wheel
- Toyota badge in the glove box
- Toyota badges on the boot, rear panels, and bonnet
- Tail lights sit out a little further
- 'LEXCEN' in silver with carbon fiber look around it on the boot
- Use **** alternators
All of these differences have now been changed on my car, making it a Holden.
Anyway how shut down do i feel after your post aus.. well... very shut down.

31-01-03, 11:24 GMT+10#11 I have seen a few 1995 VR's with ecotech motors getting around. Id say they were right before the introduction of the silver holden badge signifying the VS.
