Hi y'all, im from Canberra, land of no dragstrip... I've got a VP II V6 that whups most other street sixes... big exhaust, 3.7 gears (IRS) tricked auto. Runs 15.8 on the 1/4 (Gtech) with roughly 115kW at the rears. Blah blah blah etc. Hopefully now i can add my bit to the debates that i've seen on here so often. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hahaha, I just got back from the shops and one the way back I scared the crap out of a new N/A XR6! Are they meant to be fast or something? It was neck and neck all the way up to 130, shows how fat the new fords are. Couldn't even beat a VP executive.... nice car though.

Hmmm 115kw at the treads is in the area of my VS... and you say you pull a 15.8 in it, can't wait to get mine on the strip again now. Done any other mods to it mate?

Yeah, my Cold air intake, the bestest thing i ever did.. Its a 500mm long pipe that runs up the right hand side (looking into the engine bay) of the radiator. It has two 90 degree bends, one that sticks out just under the radiator and one that flows cool air right onto my O2 rush pod filter. I fitted a temp gauge and the under bonnet air was 43 degrees on a 23 degree day at 100ks on the highway. Fitted the Cold Air intake and it dropped to 18-19 degrees (windchill factor helps). The pipe is 90 mm wide and it makes an awesome difference, better throttle response, more economy etc!!!! Not bad for $16.45 and half an hour hehehe I've also fitted a catch can from the PCV in the manifold, this has stopped the oily air fouling my cool intake air, should be worth something... especially up top where the oil pressure really starts pumping. Im gonna install a Haltech EMS soon and have it sorted on the dyno, hopefully it will crack 125 rwkW on an un-opened motor. Then i'll start looking at a stroker kit, as my engine has 235, 000 ks on it. Still hammers though.

Sweet ****, i'd be hell keen to get some instruction on how ya did some of that stuff. Mainly the catch can, and the cold air. With the cold air, did ya just run a pipe through the bottom of the air box and out? or is it some other way? 125rwkw would be awesome out of a pretty stocko V6 man. I'm trying to pull some decent numbers out of my VS with 216,000 on it.

Nah, i got rid of the airbox ages ago, its an 02 rush pod that the ducting is feeding. I'll draw up some instructions if i can and send them... i wanted to enclose the air filter with a box but my air-con pipes and stuff get in the way to much. Also, i've replaced the inlet duct (from the throttle body to the filter) with a mandrel bent pipe, all smooth joints and its sprayed in blue temp coat, to stop heat getting in. I think its made a bit of difference, the airflow would be smoother. I'll send you some pics when i get my digital camera back- bah!
