My car has recentally developed a problem with the electics (to do with the auto gearbox). It had a problem not long ago, which was I had forgoten to connect the speed sensor back up and but thats fixed. The new problem is that occasionally now when I start the car the power light won't come on and the car wont accelerate past 2000rpm(ish) in any gear, the engine simple goes back to idle until I take my foot of the accelerator. If anybody has any ideas that would be much appreciated as I don't want to fork out a fortune to take it to an auto electrician. Cheers.

mine was also cutting out at about 2k revs and what it turned out to be was the computer for the g/b, not too much too fix, apparently $50 or so.

Cheers man, Where exactly is the gearbox computer located, I looked in my manual and it didn't mention it. Thanks.

the gearbox computer is located under the dash on the drivers side - theres a small pull out pannel there. (kinda like a fuse panel). pull it out and look up... should be a metal box with either AT1 (n.a) or AT2 (turbo) on it which is the gearbox computer.
