I have the option to install a 1JZ GTE into my VP and im seriously considering it. Does anyone have any thoughts or queries on such a weird and wild transplant? Or should i go for an RB motor instead? Maybe a worked RB20 (the 25 and 26 are too expensive for me). Also, i will keep my car an auto (with high stall) Will a VL crossmember work in my VP?

But i don't know about sumps, crossmembers or anything.... its gonna be a way big job. But im keen as beans!!! If it gets the go ahead i'll keep y'all updated Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

you'll need a 1jz out of a chaser as the sumps face different ways to the soarer ones, iff you get my drift :?

Why not turbo the v6 that is fitted into it already, these engines are seriously powerful with a turbocharger and a cam to make it rev higher, when we were enquiring about doing it to my brothers VN an American from the Buick community suggested bumping the revs up to 6000 RPM,which the Buick GN's revved to. They were the legend of the dragstrip in the 80's in America, was a shame Holden didn't fit one to the VN Commodore when it came out.

Definitly go the 1JZ!! U will get bout 215rwkw completely stock then whack on a bigger turbo n injectors n aftermarket computer n u will get 300rwkw + If not then go all out n do the 2JZ like me but mines not into a VN Cheers Troy Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

215rwkw stock??? I doubt that, my mate has one in a 74 celica, and it has about 180rwkw and that is with larger cooler, haltec and boost increase. Plus the standard turbos are 2 small ct12a's which dont like to be boosted much at all.

Auto or Manual?? I was talking bout manual with cooler n exhaust changes but no cam, injector, turbo changes like that Really i shouldnt hav said stock but if u put 1 of these motors in your car u would do those little things aswell as fiddle wit the airbox aswell U get some custom dump made n different computer n it can reach 240rwkw thru a manual The stock dump pipes r VERY restrictive!! They can take bout 18lb max i think Yes the CT12a's rnt the best but Donnon proved they can b pushed pretty far in his Soarer Cheers Troy

This is manual, it has a full 3inch mand system, and also custom dump. It has gone thru 2 sets of standard turbos already.
