As the topic says, how much would I expect to pay for extractors and a high flow cat for a n/a vl. The car currently has a 2.5 zorst and a high flow muffler. Yes I know there won't be much gain blah blah, but it needs a new cat anyway, may as well do it right as i'm going to keep the car for quite a while longer.

well i just sold a set of extractors two weeks old for $170 :/ paid $300 for them brand new. what you're better off doing with an N/A is tuned length extractors - high flow cat and get a cam into it.. everyone will warn you against it but i've seen it done and they SCREAM

ok this is what i got qouted from lukey's in melb heidelberg road alphington 2 1/2 system $360.00 includes fitting and GM VT tip extractors $460.00 studs nuts and gasket $180.00 go to some exhust places get some prices but Most places never tell you about the studs.. this was the only place that told me about the studs and gave me a price to get them all fixed not 1 not 3 all of them. they had a car in their and the guy showed me as my dad knows the guy they silconed the studs in!!! took them about most of the day just to get them out.. This place does alot of after job exhust's etc coz who ever the people goto first do a really **** job. I am not going to get a hi flow cat on coz after 6 months they tend to burn out like it has on my mates car and god it smells!! hi flow is $400 there but lukeys is the best exhusts around and where the first exhust ever till all this other brands started to come out some guy gave me a really low qoute on a walker exhust i just laughed at him and walked out the shop Where ever you are going to get your exhust and extractors done ask them about the studs if they dont tell you and ask how much it will cost to get them redone....

Thanks for the help, the car is booked in tomorrow. The quote was $480 for the extractors with gasket and new studs, they explained everything to me, and $340 for the high flow cat, which sounded a little expensive, but seeing as though we get all the trucks from work done there, I got the boss to book it in as a work car and its comming in a lot cheaper Tell you all how it goes tomorrow night. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its done, ended up getting the whole system done. Apparently when the cat **** itself, all its innards ended up in the muffler, oh well, good excuse for a new muffler and 2.5inch pipe. The cost for the lot was about the same as the original quote too, another example of "its not what you know, but who you know" The difference is noticable. The sound difference is extreme, going to take a bit to get used to I think, and there is a deffinate performance improvement, can actually chirp them off the lights in the dry now Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

good to hear dave, u hav wanted extractors for ager's did u get the hi-flow cat, cos i need a cat. i've gone thru 2 both crumbled, atm i hav no cat (punched out) and it bellows alot like u hear it echo thru and is quite annoyin, i thinkin of gettin a s/h cat for $50, but i reckon it will just crumble again!!! i was thinkin of puttin another muffler on as mine is quite loud, but sometimes i like it loud as sounds awesome and ppl look :P i only have one muffler and mandrel bent piping, muffler is a stainless straithru type, my bro's calais has 2 muffler with a stock cat and 2.5 piping ans his is really quite inside the car and makes a wicked induction noise as he has a pod filter, i am thinkin of gettin a pod too!!! laterz

I'm just curious, whats the difference between Tuned Extractors and Non-Tuned Extractors? Can someone give me a full explanation on this? I know it sounds like a stupid question but hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about... :?
