Hi,
I have been able to get my hands on these Blaupunkt GT 217X (http://http://www.blaupunkt.com.au/en-au/7606421000_main.asp) speakers from a mate. I was just wondering if i replace the fronts with these would they run on my current setup. Which consists of the following.
Clarion DRB3675 180w (45x4) max
Alpine SPE-6920 6x9" 90w Peak 30w RMS (Back)
Alpine SPE-1620 6x1/2" 90w Peak 30w RMS (Front)
Also would I need an amp to run these speakers or would they work fine off the headunit?
Any feedback welcome.

you would be replacing the Alpine SPE-1620 6x1/2" 90w Peak 30w RMS (Front) with the Blaupunkt GT 217X speakers from a mate?
if you are just run the fronts on 2 channels and the rears on the other 2 channels.
but if you want to keep all of your speakers, run the 6x9's off the head unit and hook up the new ones to the amp and fade the speakers to the front a bit, cause you are in the front, not in the back.
hope this helps

I got the speakers from my mate. Was just wondering how do i go about hooking them up? All i got from him was the speakers, with the wires hanging off them and the tweeters with the wire hanging out the back. Where abouts do the tweeters connect to. Is it the speaker or a separate wire of some sort?
Anyone know?

you'll need a crossover, headunit or amp sends signal to the crossover and it spliuts it and sends high freq to the tweeter and low freq to the woofer, are you keeping your other speakers as well or replacing the alpine speakers with these?

well i was thinking on replacing the alpines if the blaupunkts would just swap over.

the best way would be to douse the blaupunkts in petrol or paint thinners and find the nearest box of matches or lighter and apply appropriate naked flame to ignite the fuel.....otherwise taking them to your nearest and highest cliff edge would be sufficient....

letting you all know i didnt go ahead with the speakers. The depth was to much and also the hole was to small in the door.
