Hi all, just a quick question about my low pressure fuel pump.i recently replaced it with a new one coz it was on it's way out and very very noisey.the new one has since stopped/cutout 4 times.the tank has been fully cleaned in and out all fuel hoses replaced and pump has a new syphon/strainer on it.The car will be drivin along and then without wanrning just cut out and wont start again, until i pull the pump and float out of the tank and put it back in.the aftermarket pump is a bit different to the original one so i couldn't put the rubber on it that was on the original one that holds it on the frame/hose thing it sits in,but have since done that coz i was told it could be shorting out or something.the float and strainer r in the correct way so i was told.the car has not stopped since last time i fixed it with putting the rubber on(which i hope as fixed it but not sure),anyone got any ideas y it would be doing that? and yes i have had the pump tested and it works fine(and yes the wires r on the correct way otherwise it would pump backwards ),and the high pressure pump seems to be working fine. any help much appreciated Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well what do you expect? If everything is working properly and connected correctly, then obviously the problem is elsewhere... :?

Posibly a wiring problem, might be a slightly loose conection somewhere, try running a brand new wire down to the pump.

i have since replaced the relay for the fuel as i was told by a mechanic to do so.It seems to be ok now dunno just have to keep driving it.the wires r fine and the problem is something to do with the fuel pumps or relay nothing else. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the relay box's close proximity to the exhaust may be causing fuse box overheating.. my fuel pump has shat itself coz it got too hot one night and melted the fuel pump fuse.
