I hear a ticking noise behind the front bumper that gets louder, when i turn my lights on to high beam. It becomes really annoying when im idoling. I'm told it may be coming from the distributor, but i dont think so???? When i rev my car it goes away, then when revs are low it starts again. Also i hadn't started my car for about a week, and yesterday it didnt turn over the first time which it unusual, it sounded like the starter motor had trouble, but when i gave it some throttle it finally started. Could the battery be the problem????

Possibly an alternator playing up, could possibly be a bearing letting go. Thats a long shot but if it increases as battery load is increased then i'd be looking electrical.
