Last night, 3:30AM, i was going down Napean Hwy, absolutly no cars around, switching into the middle lane, and not displaying my indicator...
Then, all of a sudden, this stupid undercover copper catches up to me from way behind, pulls me over, and starts talking **** about my headlights. He asked me 5 times to swith on parking lights, head lights, parking lights, head lights... Then he said one of my tail lights was out (im glad i got 2 on each side ) then asked me to pop the bonnet, and inspected the engine like a bitch...
Then he goes on bout my "green" headlights, and how each light is supposed to face the right direction... Then i had to convince him that there wasn't any rubber caps on the lights, and i bought the actual globes for $36. I played innocent...
He told me to wait in the car, and he'd be back in a second with my license. Sitting in the car waiting, i saw them passing some papers around, then he comes back with my license, and a ****ING fine.. $105 and 2 demerit points, just for not displaying my indicator 8O  ?!?!?
What the ****?
btw, why the **** do thay always ask if i had any previous offences?

sounds like you got lucky, if you didnt use the indicator, then you got caught out for it. It sucks as you probably have done worse in the past and gotten away with it....
I bet you he could have canaried your car if he wanted to.... all VLs can be caneried instantly.
He might have given you a bit of attitude, but i think that you were lucky, espeically if you had a modified VL.
They always ask the previous offenses, or have you been introuble with the police business so they can judge who you are and how they can treat you. I bet if you were a girl he would have let you off, but alas thats life. I think it would be funny if they asked someone about their previous offenses, and jokingly said that they spent a few years in lockup.... wonder what would be the reaction then.
Seriously though, if the cop is giving you ****, dont be affraid to take down their details. Just as you have to surrender your detials, they have to do the same. If they do not or they are reluctant, then they have no case as the law wasnt really going by the law that is written.
Where abouts on nepean were you busted at? between elsternwick maccas and north, north & morrabbin town hall, or morrabinn and chelt? It was probably a TOG.

Sorry to say it mate but cop it on the chin, not indicating is dangerous no matter how busy the road is.
Not saying you deserved it, but i do hope you learn something from it.

I did learn something... coppers are ****heads (as if i didn't know that already)!
It was my first offence and he could hav just let me off with a warning.
They pulled me over on the way to the city, 200m away from a bridge close to Southland.
At least he got his nice blue pants dirty while he was kneeing down and checking 3 1/2 inch exhaust 8) !
btw, when i finally got to chapel st. i saw 2 divvy vans, one of them had a ****in white indicator on the back (aren't they are meant to be yellow/orange :? ?), and the other one had his left headlight unadjusted and it was right in my face! I think they are more concerned about my car than theirs...

theres nothing you can do...he did his job by the book the only thing i do if i want some satisfaction once and once i get a ticket is ask him for his name and badge number and where is he stationed, trust me it has them thinking or worried for a while...just some personal satisfaction....

12-01-03, 20:24 GMT+10#11 i notice when a car is turning right, but there is only 1 lane of cars
the whole line just follow each other around the car turning right, without indicating.
lol

12-01-03, 20:50 GMT+10#12 Yeah... it's a shame they couldn't just have let you off with a warning
But I guess technically you did ahh, "bend" the rules a bit
even though - cops must have special rules allowing them not to use indicators themselves

I had a mate that got pulled over for an RBT. The officer asked him if he had anything to drink that day, mate says yeah, i have actually, officer says how many drinks have you had, mate says about 6. Officer says can you blow in here please, reading comes up 0.000, Officer says what exactly was it you were drinking, mate says orange juice. We thought it was quite funny but the officer didnt see the funny side and proceeded to write out quite a few defects and giving him a bit of a lecture.
Its not worth it just for a laugh, best off just telling them what they want to know.

14-01-03, 22:00 GMT+10#15 Yeah same thing happened to me, driving home at 4PM from a mates house, got pulled over for an RBT... "Have you had anything to drink lately?" :?: I said, "Well... I had a Coffee about half an hour ago but thats about it..." To which he said, "Don't you be smart with me! Blow into the Tube!" 8O I was like, WTF!? Sure you're a Cop, but I would expect that you were at least human! Anyway, he then checked my License and Rego Sticker, but didn't write anything down, and that was it... :? Also, this morning on the way to work, i saw 3 Cops and a Camera Unit, the last Cop I saw was weaving in and out of traffic only flashing his Indicator for a split second if at all, at one stage he changes lanes 3 times within 3 seconds... 8O Nice Driving Officer! :x Can I drive like that too?

14-01-03, 22:54 GMT+10#16 yeah, its pretty sucky how they ask you what you drank, before they give you a breath test... does it really make a difference? if your over the limit, thats that.
Anyway, the funnyist thing ive done booze bus wise is getting stopped at a booze bus on my motorbike. It was pretty funny trying to get the breathaliser in. Took a while but it was ok. I insisted on taking off my helmut, but he kept on saying "no, just leave that on" he was young cop and alright about it, but its damn hard to get it in to breath.
If you drink and ride a bike, well thats just suicide at its best.

14-01-03, 23:01 GMT+10#17 id have to agree with that last comment driving drunk is very dangerous, ride a bike drunk and u might as well just shoot your-self.

14-01-03, 23:08 GMT+10#18 Is it even possible to ride a Bike while Drunk? I mean you wouldn't be able to drive anywhere to hurt yourself, the worst you could do is fall off! At least with a car its easy to just sit in the seat and step aimlessly on the pedals... But then again I spose it depends on how drunk you are, Oh, and by the way, I'll get in on this too, Don't Drink and Drive!

15-01-03, 00:05 GMT+10#19 Well my expriance with police is that they are friendly in a by the book kind of way.
Believe it or not they are there for u safety.
I got pulled over for no good reason the other nite, just coz i was lost in an industrial area.. i got torched and my car checked over abit.
But i had to look at it from there point of u.. i was driving around in the middle of the nite, slowly looking at street signs in an industrial area, so of course that looks suss.
If i was a business owner i would rather police pulled over someone and busted there ass b4 they robbed me then if they didn't... I think u would think the same also.
Police are usually as edgey as u are when they pull u over, just they have more expriance at it... Coz they know every time they pull a car over there could be a bullet with there name on it as soon as they come to the window.
So there is no hard feelings... once they get all the formal stuff outta the way they are normal people
they are just people trying to do there job....

16-01-03, 14:13 GMT+10#20 I'm a normal person and do a job. Doesnt mean i'm not a ****head 90% of the time to customers, bend the rules (good and bad ways) and think, actually know, i am above 90% of the ppl who come into the store (i work at kmart btw) . . The only difference btw me and a cop is when i name a price, the customer decides the fate of his money.
