I got 6x9 pioneers with 300w 4-way speakers, and they're ****ing unreal! I run them straight off my head-unit and they still perform very very nicely, compared to my other ones. I suggest the same... Can't wait to get an amp 8)

strathfield have some decent packages as first stereo things where for about $1500 u get a headunit, splits, 6x9's, subs, amp, cd stacker, i think thats about it, but yer depends on your budget, i'm thinkin of gettin rid of my kenwood 6x9's and replacing them with a 2nd pair of jbl 6 1/2" splits as i reacon they sound awesome, just depends on your budget, also as i've heard numerous times from different people, if your on a limited budget build it up slowly, don't go all out and get cheap things cause you can't afford what you really want, ok im finished rambling

YOU'VE JUST ASKED ME ABOUT MY FAVOURITE TOPIC... AND NOW ILL GIVE YOU MY OPINION... HEAD UNIT - KENWOOD 5020 (FLIP DOWN FACE, 50Wx4, REMOTE ETC) -$350 SPLITS - PIONEER BASS BULLET SPILTS (FORGOT THE CODE) - $299 YOU DONT REALY NEED 6x9" YOU COULD GOT FOR 3 WAY 6" BUT ANYWAYS KENWOOD HQ-7176 (OR SIMLAR) 320W 7x10" - $200+ SUBS - IF YOU'RE GOING FOR 12" GET MTX THUNDER 6124 SERIES (SILVER) ALTERNATIVE SUB - 15" MTX THUNDER SILVER SERIES AS ABOVE IF YOU'RE INTERESTED... HOW ABOUT 2 x 15" ROCKFORD FOSGATE SUBS WITH 2 x SINGLE CHANNEL POWER ACOUSTIC PLATINUM SERIES AMPS ALL IN A CARPETED BOX WITH SUB GRILLS FOR $600??? AMP - KICKER OR KENWOOD AND IF YOU WANT NOT SO EXPENSIVE BOSS AUDIO 4CH 1000W AMPS ARE PRETTY GOOD, YOU CAN FIND THEM FOR ABOUT $300+ THERE'S MY OPINION FOR YA!!! AND P.S. - I'M A GIRL!!!

You don't need 6x9s if you're gonna run a sub/s!!!!!!! Headunit - whatever tickles you're fancy, preferably something nice looking with detachable face, remote and 50Wx4 power output. Pioneer, blaupunkt, sony, kenwood, alpine, whatever you want. approx $300-$400 Front - Get a decent set of splits. I recommend DLS for bass and clarity. Otherwise you could go Alpines, Hertz, jaycars, morels, focal, whatever... check out www.hifidirect.com.au for bargains!! $200-$500 Rear - As I said, you don't need 6x9s cause your sub will be producing all the bass. Get either a 15" sub or 2 10" or 12" for your boot, get a decent box and run them off an amp. $300-$600 for sub(s) and $200-$500 for amp. Just put some 6" coax's in the rear if you want. (get cheap ones) $100

because they will cancel each other out, the same reason you don't run 6x9s when you have subs. Will sound very..... drony....will sound like poo. You could run different sized subs, but your crossover system would have to be pretty damn acurate. and it would be fairly expensive. What kind of music do you listen to? hip-hop/rap etc I would get a 15 or maybe 2 12s. If it's alternative/metal/techno/dance etc I would get 10's or even a couple of good 8's. I always buy kicker subs, so i would be too biased to give you sub recomendations. Why not just buy a kicker 18" Solo X? And 4 x 1200.1 (i think thats it) amps to run it? You may need to purchase an A Frame to get the thing in though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
