I have a VP, 6 Cyl, Auto, Executive and have just bought a tacho for it as there isnt one in the dash. I need to know where to find and which wires as follows: - 12V Dash lighting - 12V Ign Switch - Tacho Term? It says you cant connect it to a coil, there is a box or teminal somewhere?? If anyone has done this or knows, I would love the help especially with the last one as I may be able to suss the other two.

I can't do alot for you here, but i do have a wiring diagram for them at home that i'll check for you. I do know that all of the 3.8L engines (including the Ecotec ) had the tacho terminal thing because they run coil packs. I'll check tonight for you on the diagram and post back results. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I figured them all out, and it works well. Its was the brown wire taped to the loom above the passenger side strut.
