hey, looking at getting an Alpine type R sub and was just wondering the correct way to wire up the sub. do you need a 2 channel amp, i.e. one channel to each voice coil or can i get away with a mono channel amp. cheers.

what u do is, connect then the + speaker wire from the amp to one voice coil and the - to another, now with the other - and + you connect one speaker wire from the remaining + to the remaining - so you are like connecting the sub to its self. hope this helps more explanation and diagrams here... http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/1dvc.html
