Anyone have any idea what would cause white spots/specs to appear inside the exhaust pipe at the end? Looks almost like some kind of chemical reaction with the carbon deposits there .. placeing my hand/paper infront of the pipe while its running doesn't show anything unusual coming from the exhaust .. for reference the car is running LPG, but i've had the car for almost a year now, and never seen this before .. Anyone know what might cause it?

Quote: Anyone know what might cause it? possibly an out of tune, poorly maintained engine. no offence to you dude. by the sounds of the deposits in ur exhaust: white usually indicates lean.. from the other posts i've read about ur car backfiring etc.. it might be an idea to take it to an LPG specialist and get it checked out properly and any problems fixed up dude, or repairs could end up costing u more than a simple routine mantainence check... 8) later Ollie

Thanks .. The backfires are fairly rare .. The car has just had its service a few weeks ago and nothing major was picked up, but I might go to an LPG specialist sometime soon, its had a few other problems my mechanic is reluctant to fix for me (theyr LPG certified, but not overly specialised it seems) .. engine has seen over 360,000 kms now, so might be getting on a bit .. i hope not tho thanks again. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

LPG is dangerous on VL's... you'll do a head every 100k... or so i've been lead to believe

nah .. thats bull**** .. my previous head had seen 330,000kms .. blew a gasket, but head itsedlf survived .. but valve seats were almost gone .. got a new one .. expected by mechanic to last another 150,000+ with the current gasket, and not l8ikly to expected to crack a head then either .. LPG runs cooler apparntly ..
