i just wanna know if there is any advice anyone can give me. i have a set of clarion 6" 150w (peak - i dunno what rms) speakers and a set the same but 120w. i also have (well it arrives tomorrow) a pioneer P7450MP head unit. if i just leave the 150w speakers on the back shelf, put the 120w's in the front doors and get one of those amp/sub packages ive seen the quokka with 15" for about $300-350 will it sound full sick bro? no seriously will it be good? or is there any minor adjustments that can be recommended and dont involve spending another $300 for 6" splits or whatever?

personally i would put the 150w's in the front doors and the 120's in the back shelf, it will give ya a bit more sound in the front, cos the sub will drown out pretty much everything from the back, just my opinion tho

no need to be rude. i dont want a full in depth explanation or recommendation i just wanted to know if it would be really **** for any reason. the quokka is like perth's trading post. i have no idea what kind of amp and no idea what kind of sub because i havent purchased either yet. the kind of sub and amp that cost about 300-350 second hand for both probably. i have no idea about the speakers i might check later.

sorry man, i only just read my post then... I had absolutely no intention of being so rude... ops: You're head unit is a really nice unit. I suggest you drop into a Strathfield store and check out Boss amps. pick up a nice 4 channel amp (BA2900 is a good one, about $229 i think) and power the 150Watters up front, and run the others off your head unit. then use the rear channels of the amp to run a sub. Good luck dude Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ill look into it. thanx for that. the head unit is caught up in sydney now (coming from the US) so what was sposed to be the 27th is now hopefully some time next week or whenever the company in the US faxes the invoice. bloody customs.

obviously i would have worked that out. including shipping and exchange rate it is half the price. that deck costs around 1000+ here and it has cost me AUD$510. the deck is USD$235 there and shipping for four of the head units is USD$200 thats USD$50 each between me and my mates. plus a bit for wire transfer of money and it equals a bit over AUD$2000 for four of them.

thats what they cost if you find the right shop. i used the one i did because a mate of mine bought his from them when he was there so i knew they werent dodgy. im thinking about organising another 4 or 5 if i can find the right ppl. theres gst on top though now so if i was it would be about 600 each or something. but you can choose from heaps of stereos, subs, amps everything.

Mr burgandy, is there a particular reason you are recommending BOSS amps. From what i've heard of BOSS and my own experience their gear is not anything special. Their amps are over-rated eg their 4 Channel 1000W MAX amps tend to put out around 75WRMS if that. For a cheap option they could be alright but perhaps looking at maybe a Jaycar RESPONSE 2x150WRMS amp cud be an option?? they can be picked up for roughly $280 and when bridged put out 484WRMS into 4ohms. Would be ideal to have that sorta power on tap if you plan on running a 15"
