Just wondering if anyone's ever considered making their own custom dash?
Judging from this guide, it's not too hard (just takes a bit of fibreglassing know-how) to make a nice looking dash, and because you're basing it off an already existing VL dash, it'd fit with no modification (unlike retro-fitting a newer dash).
What are your thoughts? Has anyone tried something similar?

I want to do this because I am after a full Autometer gauge dash. I havent got it priced yet because its not a high priority yet, engine is first.
I would either base it on the VL dash or the VR dash. You are right though, the VL dash wouldnt need mods approval.
Let me know how much and where if you go ahead and get yours priced, I will do the same.

yeah ive considering making one. probably gonna spray it a nice shade of grey- buts thats gonna be a while off when the car is getting completely stripped.
if i was going to custom a dash i would probably fibreglass some gauges into it above the vents. maybe even remove .......... (better not say that- someone migt do that before i do and i end up seeing it in some magazine)
but if done properly a custom dash would be the ****!

Yeah, I'm just gathering ideas...I wouldnt actually do it until I had an engine worthy of gauges  But I also was thinking about gauges above the middle airvents, and a monster tacho built into the side of the speedo area, etc...
Would look wicked!

I was thinking about getting a nice dash setup, something like what R33 Skylines have... But where the Air Conditioning and the stereo resides.. I want something like Toyota Supra has.
As for the centre console. I want something like Skyline.. Make it all neat and nice looking
