One thing I think you guys should do is do a quik skim read of all the
performance car magazines that might feature VL commodores and get any info on any cars tha are fitted with active NOS systems and feature them on your website in a section called "NITRO NIGHTMARES"
cheers
BOOST ADDICT
Here's my view :
some people say N2O is cheating (including such brand names as "NOS"), but i think that whatever gets you to the end of the strip faster, is good. Yes, N2O is illegal to be used on the street, but so is having low wiper fluid... And if you get caught, bend over REAL far son - do the crime, do the time, but dont winge that "x" car shouldnt have beaten you cause N2O is illegal on the street... (oh, and lots of "street" cars go to the strip to see just how fast they can do it - and if that means N2O at the drags, then go for it!)
friendly mod note : keep it civil, or it shall be locked
it would be fun but i dont think id ever use it. if nitrous is cheating then so are turbos and superchargers or even PULP all in the same ball park. but if thats the avenue you choose to pursue then good luck. its only really practical though for pure 1/4 times. i mean really who can afford to go around replacing floor pans and fried rings every time they race.
why do i think its stupid on the street? because if u get caught ok maybe u think u could get away with it but still if u get caught then ur gonna get a fair bit of crap from the cops. also who really needs nos on the street unless ur trying to kill yourself which u can do without it anyway whats the point. hey its just my thoughts but if u wanna fly around town with ur nos system racing every little rice boy that pulls up next to u fine go for it.
there's a very modded evo lancer at uni with all his 'sponser' stickers down the side.. one of them was the NOS sticker. Thinking he'd have to be a retard to advertise and actually HAVE it, I asked him. he popped the boot and a big NOS can sitting on a support tucked next to the rhs quarter panel. What if he has an accident?!
Anyway, he hadn't hidden it at all. The only other strange memrobilia in his boot was a rug in the spare wheel compartment. Told me 'the dog' goes there when he takes him for a spin.
If that's what money does to you i don't want any.

Has anyone else noticed that the poll percentages are screwed??
If 8 people have voted then there would be 100% of people, 62% said drag 37% said street & drag.... to me that makes 99%.
n/a88VLsl: i just think it's another mod... but it is pritty stupid to use it on the street , like if you have an accident....
and isn't it something like a $10;000 fine if you get caught using it?
apparently its legal to have in your car but if you are caught with the lines primed and everything (ie you just need to hit the red button on your steering wheel) then you get in trouble. but i know junior from the rollaboyz had ricey OZNOS in his corolla (rice because he had the polished bottle sitting like an ornament in his boot for the autosalon and stuff but didnt hook any of it up) and he was defected for it.
i will go with insanevl.. there is alot of mods that make cars faster and are ilegal. so whats wrong with nos? if it makes the car faster then go for it. if you get caught, u gotta pay. but if u have the money for a nos set up and to use it on the road.. chances u will have the money for the fine are pretty good . thats my 2 cents jeffo
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Its not only the cops you need to worry about its the possibility of a massive explosion if you get arse ended. Yeah a big turbo and pod filter etc are illegal but they dont have the potential to explode in an accident.

Youve been watching waaaaay too much Fast and Furious.
Yes its flameable but N20 is an innert substance which wont just blow up for the hell of it. Even in a prang.
GMH-GEM - I dont think the fine is that steep, thats the fine for a hollow cat or no cat.
N2O is NOT listed as a flamable substance - it will NOT explode on impact (despite what you see in movies - even cars without N2O will flip and explode into a big fireball). I would be more worried about the petrol in the fuel tank catching alite from a spark in an accident than the N2O bottle going thermo !!

Im not having a go at you but you could say the same thing about; turbos, superchargers, exhausts, coolers, anything at all that makes your car go faster, even diff ratios!!!!!!
