u'll get alot of posts saying to go turbo but if u want to stay n/a a cam/chip package should be alright i think u should change the valve springs when u install the cam/chip. um yeah but as alot of peeps will say dont waste money on an n/a convert it to a turbo. but if u wanna stay n/a i dont know theres alot else u can do?

yea true, but i'm not ready to spend the cash on the turbs... for $2000 i can get myself (or so i've been told) bout 120-130kw with the right intake/exaust system and the right cam/chip setup! how true is that? and if its a bit far fetched, what would i be looking at?

yes, a properly selected cam and chip will make that power (and more)... but make sure you do it properly - dont be a tight ass and just get a cam - you NEED the chip that will go with it with the mods you've already done (exhaust)...

yep i'll be getting the chip. so with a cam/chip setup i could be blowing stock vl turbs! not to bad for a little stock 6.... i've heard the rb30e is a bullet proof engine, but will i need/should i have any internal mod's to keep the integrity of the engine at a maximum?

get a turbo motor, or convert yours to turbo. dont waste your time on an n/a 6, turbo all the way + more power is only a few PSI away anyway.

you shouldnt need to do the internals, unless your looking at getting some serious HP out of it... with a cam and chip package, exhaust, and some creative tuning, you should be able to keep up with STOCK turbo's, but it isnt hard to get the turbo's running better... depending on how much HP your engine ends up making with your cam/chip selection, your diff might not hold up too long, and if you have an auto box, you might find it will start slipping after a bit of "fun" driving... if your gonna crack the engine open - do it properly... i know you can get some serious HP out of a N/A RB30 - but it takes $$$$$$ (ur looking at $10k to get about 250 - 275 RWHP (which is about 250 - 275 kw at the engine))... if you want to go this way - forget about the cam and chip package - it will only be money that you will need to spend again - get a programmable computer (haltech, autronic, microtech, whatever), and then get the cam - this way, any mods you do to the engine (more compression, or headwork, cam, etc) wont need a new "chip" to get the car running its best - its up to you, work out what you want to do, and how far you want to go, and how much money you want to WASTE on a n/a (dont let me stop you, but 90% of the money spent on ANY engine is wasted straight up if your not serious about keeping the motor, or going to change it later anyway - i should know this - see my post about the "progress of ATM06") I once was going to go the n/a route and see just how much i could get from a n/a and kick some turbo butt with it.. i cant say this enough, it costs lots of $$$, but you CAN do it...

275kw at the flywheel in a n/a rb30, bahahaha, what ****en weed have you been smoking boy! Your talking out your arse, You'll need an 11k redline, high compression, more capacity, 6 throttle bodies, extremely ported head. And thats far more than 20k, and far less than 275kw, maybe with NOS, but then thats not n/a. If you want a 'powerful' n/a buy a ****en BMW M3, or buy an EA/L and spend 6k on it. your talking 180kw at the treads, tricked box, LSD... Otherwise, buy a TURBO

Hold up... methinks you should take a long serious look at a RB25DE head conversion. Do a search on this site, you'll find plenty of info.

SIMPLE ANSWER: Sell your N/A, top up your money with the $2K and buy a factory turbo VL. Saves a lot of mucking around, unless for some reason you enjoy N/A's and don't want a turbo.

The engine was built by Steve at Redcliffe Dyno. I have personally talked to Steve about this engine, and he tells me that it cost $10k including a new clutch and getting the engine bay painted... I suggest you get a nice cam and port & polish the head. Go out and get a nice chip to go along with the cam....
