Like every exec/berlina owner, i dont want those big wide feminine head lights for my car, but instead the more purposeful/meaner/generally cooler looking calais front end. Now as i'm sure a fair few of you know, 1000 smackers is a fair bit of cash to lay down just for some motorised eyelids. Do any of you guys know anyone who makes an alternative that would achieve a similar effect, or of anyone who would be willing to help make something like that up from scratch? anyone got a calais front they can lend me so i can make some moulds of it on the car? Ideas plz fellas cuz my respray is coming up within the next few months... cheers

The factory eyelids are hard enough to get semi straight as they are, why would you want mock-up calais lights

Do a search on it.. some one here has posted about a mob in sydney that make fiber glass calais look-a-like front ends for the VL. Looks the same, just doens't have motorised eye lids

dont get fakies. just look hard in the papers, online for sale sections, trading post etc. youll have to be serious about getting them tho because the rock bottom lowest youll get a set for is around $550 good luck

you can buy most of the bits for a calais nose cone from holden still. i just bought the two side panels i need for $75 each....the eyelids area baout the same and i guess the centre panel is the same again. the you just have to buy a grp a grill not that gay eggcrate grill standard calais have. all up you're probly looking at $375 plus painting. BUT THEY ARE NON-OPERATIONAL. FOR LOOKS ONLY. Dan

haha dreaming! the corner pieces were 73 and 72 each from memory. i cant rmemeber the exact prices for the rest of the parts, but i can tell you the main piece is in excess of $200. all up the pieces came to over $1000. (there is more peices than you think for it to fit properly i.e metal suport arms to jin the flaps together+metal support arms here and there to join flaps to main piece etc etc etc)... The motor alone was another $400 something ontop of the $1000 by the way.
