Im trying to get some info for a friend who as a vl n/a. The engine has done about 400,000 kms but seems to be in alright condition. He wants to convert to a turbo, and he is wondering what is the best method to do it, eg new turbo engine or convert his n/a engine to turbo. What prices are new turbo engines worth (including turbo comp) and what prices for turbo convertion. Also does anyone have either of the two for sale. What is needed in order to convert an n/a engine to turbo. Thanks

with 400,000km i wouldnt be throwing a turbo on it.. sure the RB30's are tough, but thats a lot of k's regardless. if he really must put a turbo on that car, throw a complete turbo motor, trans and diff in it. also, search the forums, this has been asked LOTS lately.

Try and find a Turbo VL that has been in a prang, at least then you get everything, brakes, diff, trans, etc....... Trying to get all the bits will be hard!!

buy a skyline motor from the wreckers... like $300-400 with say under 150 000km's.. bolt on all the turbo stuff and drop it in Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
