I Am thinking of buying an 82 VH to use as a work car. Instead of having to take my VL which I want to keep as my good car. Anyway I have found this one. 12/82 VH Vacationer Sedan. Blue 3.3/202 six (uses oil and worn out, but still runs) Air cond (Not working) Auto trans, Minor front drivers side damage, Brake master cylinder needs overhaul, Slave cylinders in rear brakes leak, Good interior, Fair paint, Lowered on CSA Mags with P215 65 R14 tyres, How much would this be worth?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The owner does not want to sell until the rego runs out in January, as they still want to use it until then. Another bloke has offered $200 for it. I think thats a bit cheap, im thinking of offering about $600. :? Also it is on dual fuel but if I get it I am going to take it out. I dont like gas in cars :x. Also it will need a full set of new tyres, as the ones on it are worn out.

Unfortunantly I missed out on this one. Another bloke came up with a better offer, He paid $1000 for it. Ah well, there are others out there. Just have to keep looking. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Why buy a leaded fuel guzzling 6 cylinder unreliable rusted out uncomfortable aussie pos for your work car ? Dude my opinion is that you should be looking for a cheap jap 4 cylinder to get around in, that way REGO and fuel are cheaper and you can put more dollars into the car that counts.... the VL ! shoot me down if you will but there's no point. I am right later ! Jay Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Jay has a point here, a four banger would be so much better than a chew-o-two VH.

Quick update Guys I Had a talk to the bloke who bought the VH, He said that he would sell his other car, a VC Commodore when he had finished restoring the VH. The VC's in average condition with minor rust in the corner of the "C" pillar and front passenger door that is easily fixed. Thats all so far. Have not offerd him anything yet, as he is not ready to sell for another couple of months.

Yeh Your going back further and further to older and ****tier cars. That $1000 for the VH was way too much. Get yourself a cheap 4 cylinder like everyone suggests, don't waste your time with dinosaur VCs etc.

Like everyone else said, get a 4cylinder, my g/f got a 1980 lancer blows smoke, drives like a boat, falls out of 2nd gear, but it only cost her $800 shes had it 3 years and its only been serviced once (in about 40-50,000kms, thats probly why its blowing smoke ) But the thing has only stopped once (blown fuse) and uses bugger all fuel Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
