the new ford was voted car of the year this year and its the first time ford has got it for ages. What does everyone think???
personally i reckon the VY's look pretty gay, and were a let down for holden, so its good to see ford finally delivering some competition. As far as im concerned its only gonna b good for the buyers in the long run, as holden will now be trying their tits off to beat ford :P
I personally think that the VY looks better than the BA. The VY is a step forward in looks compared to the VX, where the BA is a step back compared to the AU. Ford went too futuristic with the AU, but I think you will find in a few years that the BA will look older than an AU, where the VT's alreadly look old, the AU's still look current.
This of course is my personal opinion, so don't get cut up about it :P
I rekon if Ford never had the Turbo XR6 in the BA line up, the VY would have got the prize.........good old Turbo 6.........

Top marks to Ford on the BA, especially the XR6 Turbo. Holden has gotten complacent with their market lead and will now pay for it. Having said that, they wont rest on their laurels either.

i think Holden go more for 'wow' factor
they release so many show cars (Commodore Hatchback, 427, HRT maloo, G3 Jackeroo)while ford only do prototypes of cars they actually intend to build (300+, R7 etc)
however holden sell more cars ay! Ford have **** advertising and they are paying for it. While the BA may be the ducks guts it doesnt matter **** because people are stupid and will buy whatever is advertised more. its just the way the world is
Whoever thinks the VY looks good needs a reality check - god it is one of the most mismatched shapes on the road it is hideous - the VX is a mad shape, so sleek, but the VY is chunky at the front and back with the same bubble roof - its crazy i dont know what holden were thinking. The more I look at it the less I'll like it.
I hope ford's quality control has gotten better cos AUs were shocking.
I love the look of the ford bonnet, I think it is called the boss bonnet.
I would wait for the next commodore to come out and get it, cos I wouldn't get the ford turbo cos it has ford badges and I wouldn't get the vy cos it looks ****.

lolz, at least with the ford badges, its an anti theft deterant, so ya wont need to spend money on an alarm But even as much as i hate fords, the BA looks mad, and the VY was made by mitsubishi as far as im concerned.

I think the BA looks really trick... very Euro Saloon style.
Im happy with the shape, and its a real face lift from the sad faced AU crappa.
VY looks gay. Seen and been in a VY clubsport with only 82kms on the clock... while the interior is nice, but rear end is really really gay.... too chunky and very high looking. The front isnt too bad, but the rear really takes the cake here.
New dash is a bit of a modern old look.... not bad but lacks the 21st centuary factor like soarers and even VK Calais have.
VX Clubsport / Monaro is pretty sweet looking and was a very good shape from the start.
The VY is a hacked up VT bodyshape, to make way for the New VZ (?? if its called that??) in 2004.... a transission model if you will.
The reason why VY commodore was not able to be entered was becasue they said "it was to similar to the VX"
ITS A NEW MODEL, WHO CARES HOW SIMILAR IT IS TO THE OLD ONE!!! ah well...

hey i just realised the GT is 25,000 cheaper than the 300GTS
thats almost another BA/VY!
GT is not a limited run whoever buys one gets one, limited by the amount of buyers, hopefully that figure will be massive!
GT will be released in all falcon re-vamps/re-model from now on.
GT and XR8 will not be available till early next year, engine is still not completed.
Last but not least, all prospective GTS300 buyers have a re-think, you can get a better car for much less, strap a blower on it, and have a 375kw beast, and you'll still come out 15k richer 8)
