What would win between a stock V8 5.0 and a worked VL turbo wunning 20 psi?

The VN 5 liter would win. I've drag my mate in his na vl and beaten him every time. When i run the my car on gas its a little bit more even, but i still win.

Look you'd beat a Ferrari Testarossa in your N/A VL if that makes you happy. Many V8's including particularly the GenIII aren't that quick off the mark but have lots of go up top. A mate was in a pursuit in his SS chasing a V6 Commodore. Because the pursuit was a stop, start affair the V6 was able to keep ahead of the SS. After a short time the SS would get the revs up and catch up again. And after reading all the provisos that you put in later it sounds like a hollow claim anyway. Just remember that you have a N/A (114kw or so) and it would be embarrassing to start making silly performance claims.

Guys who cares what would win out of an N/A or a friggen Porsche... At the end of the day, unless your a race team owner or even a race car drive with a sh*t load of cash in a team, WHO CARES!!!! Keep this crap calm and remember that if it gets messy i'm locking it. And if your racing anything, do it on a track please.

The turbo would absolutely lay beat all over the stock 5.0L V8. Simple. And who ever wrote the post about beating your mates na vl with you VN V8 must have been racing a crappy VL because my girlfriend killed every V8 she raced in my old NA VL. - fair enough it had been worked (read my post in the Non-Turbo area) but that's not the point.

jeez theres like 1 trillion different versions of the 5.0 anyway... holden, ford chev? presumably holden then 308, 304 etc injected carby ? what year? there's a lot of difference between HQ & VL 5-0s in terms of power and other tings everyone with an NA reckons they can whip anything for some reason maybe over the 60 ft line but that's all Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

n/a's are just quick

on friday morning i was minding my own business in my na 5 speed (2.5" zorst, 25deg adv) and i stopped at a red light. a couple of young guys in a vn pulled up next to me and gave their car a rev, so i thought stuff ya! stalled the car up to 2500 rpm, on green dumped it, and i was 1/2 a length in front, through my gear shifts they would edge up a little bit, but i'd regain my lead again fast. at around 100-110 they got next to me, and at 120 they started to edge past. thats when i saw the v8 5.0 badge on the back. it did have a hsv badge on the side, but that doesn't really mean much. I was so stoked about that, be he was pissed off! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well basically because I got bagged out for merely posting about my VL beating a v8, which it did and im not retracting that. Then people had a go at me and told me i was full of ****. SO the post change thing was just a joke, but its still creating discussuion so who cares. The bagging out was a joke too, however dont bag me out just because v8s are slow. Oh and im not a P plater wanker and really dont give a hoot if my car beats a v8 or not, im a 3rd year uni student/Teacher and am basically killing time on this site because i like VL turbos. Didnt realise I was talking to L platers and P platers the same ones who annoy me on the roads.
