heya's i've got a pair of 6 x 9's Pioneer 3 way 180watt, i have been running them with no amp for 2 years want more power, my headunit only has one preout, can i run a 4 channel amp, or only a 2 channell, i may want to get a sub within the next year. i was thinking of a simple 2 x 100rms 2 channel amp, cheap brand like audioline, i know they have a little red amp that looks ok and sounds good, just to run the 6 x9's, i only have 4" up front therefore don;t need to amp those. will an amp give me benefit, as it sounds good already, i just want more power and to go louder!!

Hey Blue, What you can do, is just use spliters on your pre-outs, i've done this on mine to power the amp and 6x9's If you want to add a sub later, you may as well grab yourself a 4 Channel bridgable. Audioline are suprisingly not too bad with their amps, they're very balsy but not the clearest in producing the sound. For bass they're great but if it were for say splits then i would want a name brand amp. My recomendation would be buy 2 Y spliters from JB HiFi and a 4 Channel Audioline Amp. I run this exact setup in my car and sounds pretty good if you ask me. I have had comments on its powerful sound from only 1 10" sub.

Even a cheap amp should give better volume, sound clarity over a name brand HU. Im running crappy 2 way 140w kenwoods of a reasonable kenwood amp. They sound more bassy and go louder than, a set of 240w 7x10s ive heard running of an HU.
