and 6 inch sony 3 way 200w
for my g/f, she has a red car and wants it to match... :roll:
but anyway, i know the head unit is pretty good (a mate has got one)
but will you get any bass (for my benefit) out of the combo?
General rule of thumb with Car Audio... Sony is CRAP.
Their speakers are just useless for a bass responce.
Tell her to get a good set, grap the grills, spray em red and she's laughin.
well my opinion is they're a waste of money, i mean they'll sound better than factory or even cheap aftermarkets.
But they're nothing to rave about.
I would only buy em if she isn't fussy about sound quality
ohhh, they are not really that bad, but compared to quality brands for a similar price that are!
I'd suggest getting some 6x9's instead of the 6"s though

Try jaycar 6" ?
Maybe even jaycar kelvar splits for $180
Btw sony are gay... Kelvar splits are yellow... red and yellow goes together

I've got a sony xplode head deck. Had it for a little over a year now, and i don't have a problem with it. I recken its great.
As for the speakers but, i wouldn't get any of those xplode ones. Compare those to the other speakers that are avaliable, and the others **** all over the sonys.
Interesting how *most* females will choose things on how they look (colour etc) without paying any attention to the cost for what they're actually getting.
JBL 6 1/2" splits, the jbl badge is red and white, well, redish orange, ok so it's orange, but yeah a few fellas from here have heard mine and i reacon they sound great, although the $300 price tag might not entice you, well worth it however
she ended up with a jvc head unit
dunno bout speakers yet, they are my xmas present to her, so its up to me anyway...
just gotta find something cheap and good

i dunno if anyone else has thought of this but what type of car does your girlfriend drive?
if it's something small i'd say just get a good set of splits, and if you wanna be dodgy buy a sub and run it off the headunit :P
get Phillips 6 inch speakers with splits. Don't remember model number but for the price they are excellent. If anyone disagrees then shove it up your arse
