I have a wrecked series 2, with basically everything mechanical in good working order. I have a crappy vk carby manaul. I was toying with the idea of transplanting the engine, computer, fuel pumps etc...into the VK manaul...how hard is this?
Will the engine fit?
Cheers
it is a pretty easy job, i was gonna do it but havent got around to it
basically, just bolt the crossmember and engine in, gearbox (you will have to use VL box) crossmember has to be made.. you can hook up the gauges pretty easy if you know which wire is which... apparently it is a weekend job..
the VL dash will fit in the vk also. so just put the entire dash in with all the vl gauges and its plug and play.. you will need vl crossmember and gearbox.
....recommend using a vl diff - vl diffs will bolt into vk's but not vise versa apparently....
user gearbox and tailshaft out of the wreck and i believe even the gearbox crossmember fits... ?
Don't the last series of VK use a similar diff to a VL in regards to the rear tailshaft coupling?
As far as I am aware the first VK's downwards used the U bolt setup.
U also hav to change to VL steering aswell apparently,
Also depends on which side your battery is on n also where your top radiator hose is

That has a conversion of a VK wit n RB30 but they made the engine mounts
