Hey. I read the thing about removing the mesh bits from the afm on vl's. I have a unifilter pod filter on mine so if i take the mesh out of my afm no **** will get in it? Also, anyone got any ideas on what chip/cam i should get for my car it had extractors 2.5" exhaust and pod filter. Should i get chiptorque, power chip or unichip??? What cam? What other mods could i do? What do you reckon of the throttle bodies from commsport.com? :?:

if u don't have a turbo thats the best mod - sell ur car. i'm still coming to grips with that fact!

nah if ur like me and ur stuck with the n/a then i'd say the chip and cam would prolly be the way to go i've heard chiptorque are good but i havent had any experience with them myself. and im sick of everytime some1 asks what can i do to make my n/a have a bit more power how some1 always has to say sell it and get a turbo.

instead of all cams /chips and stuff, why dont u bolt on a turbo. u can do it 4 around a grand. the rb30 will hold up fine as long as u stay under 7 psi. Dont know how u would go about registering it tho

its not that dumb an idea. wasn't it ben visconte who ran 11 seconds on an n/a bottom end>? maybe even faster, sin will know. So assuming the pistons will take that, milder boost should see them last a while. the oil isn't that big an issue if caregul, tho turbo oil pump is bigger (but they say the oil pumps are bulletproof anyhow), with boost that low you'd get by on n/a injectors tho you'd want to change them eventually. other than that the cam and compression are the only noteable differences, unless i forgot something. I know of 2 people who've done this, one of whom is on this forum and apparently has had it on noteable boost for 2 years running, just waiting for it to blow and replace it. So if your tranny lasts the distance, i'd be doing it before a chip and cam. if u later get round to a cam you could wack in turbo pistons at the same time, which also fixes the compression...

Quote: im sick of everytime some1 asks what can i do to make my n/a have a bit more power how some1 always has to say sell it and get a turbo. maybe they are trying to tell you something or maybe ppl should stop asking the same questions over and over and they will stop getting the same answers over and over. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the people who usually ask q's about making the N/A go faster have never been in a turbo vl.. on some boost. my advice to those ppl, before u go asking questions about making ur n/a go faster, ask a turbo driver for a ride or a drive of their car. u will soon realise.. turbo is the only way ! **** this cam and chip ****.. get a turbo !

Exchaser: It's always good to make something go faster even if it doesn't have a turbo bolted onto it. I've driven a 12 second VL, and I still love driving my car and reckon it goes very well. The owner of the 12 second car thinks my car goes hard too. But unless you do have money to throw around I wouldnt get a chip, I believe it basically just advances your cars timing through the ECU, do it mechanically and it wont be as precise but u will get a similar gain.
