Hi, as the topic says. What happens if you have a straight gas system, and you run out of fuel? It may be a stupid question, but I WANT TO KNOW!! as i'm considering going completely gas on my car.

The gas system would have a fuel level sender thingy wouldn't it??? I haven't got the motor yet, but i have it planed. It is currently both gas and fuel.

Yeah they normally have a LED display to show the fuel level - 4 or 10 coloured LEDs to show how much gas is left. Some people connect the gas sender into the factory fuel gauge, so whatever fuel you're using has its level displayed on your factory gauge. Looks neater, but only trouble of course is that you can't see how much is left of the fuel you're not currently running on. Could get a nasty surprise when your gas runs out, you switch to petrol and find someone's siphoned your tank! :S

you could always go raid someones backyard from where you broke down, and tax there BBQ gas canister duel fuel is gay, set you car up fully on gas, high ron so you can take advantage of increased timing higher boost and the such with duel you will have petrol settings tuned, then gas is on and it runs like ****, unless you can flick between two settings that are indivdual setup for the two fuels. Waste of time tho Gas all the way, no duel what do you do when you run out of petrol tho? Well first you shouldnt run out coz thats the best way to kill your fuel pump and injectors. Sure you can get a jerry can and fill her 5l to get you to station, but hey those 5l have already started to burn your fuel pump, and your up for an expensive new one. simple solution, dont run out.... I haven't seen it, but a mate saw a taxi with like a bbq gas can, with a special adapter like the ones at petrol stations, topping up his lpg in the middle of nowhere one night. Also deffinatly not dual fuel if you want performance. We have 3 AU utes at work, one dual fuel, one straight lpg and one straight petrol. The straight ones go hard, the dual one is an absolute slug.....

its for a old 253. Might be getting one really cheap to replace my 202. (hey, it must be better then a 202 right???) so yeah, i think i'll go 100% gas if i get it. Can they put a tank where my current fuel tank is?? (take the tank out of course) or does it HAVE TO be in my boot??
